Timing of credit card purchase

I have a simple (I think) question about the timing of a credit card purchase.

My credit card has a statement date of the 18th of the month so is due to be generated tomorrow.
I have a purchase which I want to make but would like it to appear on the June statement rather then the May one. Due to work commitments it would be more convenient for me to make the purchase tomorrow but would this appear on the May statement or would a purchase made on the statement day not get processed until the following day and therefore appear on the following months total?

Thanks

depends on the provider as I have had this happen, when making on the statement day / day before
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Statements are generally closed off at the end of the business day.

But a transaction made tomorrow may still be 'pending', ie at the pre-authorisation stage, at the end of the day, so that could work for you.

Then again. they could be a day late with the statement this month!

    Is it worth the risk?

In my personal experience with credit cards, I have to the best of my knowledge never seen a transaction made on my cards appear on the statement the same day. For me they will always show as pending the same day and usually clear the next or the day after.

Do you have an online account? I cannot ever recall a transaction on the statement date appearing on my statement.

If I was in your position, to be certain, I would wait until my statement appeared online before making the purchase.

Some card providers, such as Halifax, list two dates for transactions on statements. The date it was made and the date it was entered on to the statement. There's always at least one day's delay. Sometimes two. From memory, this appears to be the same with other cards.

Sods law is always at work. I once used a credit card to make a fairly large purchase on the day I anticipated my statement would be produced, thinking it would hit the next statement. For some odd reason my statement that month was produced late and my plan didn't work. :(

That happened to me once as well, my statement date was a Monday so I thought if I made a purchase on the Sunday it would appear in the next months statement.
No, it posted on the Monday and was on that months statement.

And this was in the days of the card swipe machine, the internet hadn't even been invented.

Now I always make sure my statement for that month is issued before I make a purchase if I want the maximum interest free time.

    Thanks for all the replies,

I have decided to play safe and postpone the purchase until the I know the statement has been issued
