Looking for advice - 1st CC
I'm looking for a little advice if anyone can help. This is the first time I've wanted to get a credit card so I know my options might be limited. I'm in my early 30's, I haven't taken out a loan before, I've rented and paid bills on time for many years but I assume having no credit card or loans in the past might go…

Aqua credit card - beware
I took out an Aqua card (as recommended by MSE) a year ago. The attraction was the cashback, and the low cost foreign currency transactions. Last month, I exceeded the (low) credit limit by £22 and was charged a £12 "limit" fee. (54% interest a month). I have always paid the full balance by direct debit. I phoned the 0800…

Company Travel Credit Card
Hi there, I may be travelling to Asia (HongKong/Shenzhen) for business with the company I work with (2 weeks maximum stay). They work on an expenses basis where I pay and reclaim the expenses back from the company. It seems a common method between employees of paying by credit card and paying it off once the expenses have…

'Offer' of increase in credit limit on credit card; refuse it or just leave it?
I've been offered an increase on my credit limit for a capital one card which has an outstanding balance that I'm slowly chipping away at. Once I've been able to pay it off I'll be getting rid! (Or alternatively, when I can, get a 0% balance card to deal with it that way) I have no intention of spending any more with it…

Card Fraud
Hi, MBNA called me up a few days ago checking on some transactions that flagged on their system. They were for Experian, Dialaphone, Graze and the Chocolate club. I told them they weren't mine so they put a stop on the card and added me to CIFAS. I'm actually a little worried though as I don't understand what the person…

Transferring Next balance to CC?
Hi all, I recently got a Barclays 0% credit card to pay off my Next account with; the limit for Barclays was higher than Next, "Great!" I thought. Only - when I tried to transfer the debt online a pop-up informed me this could to be done - I'm not sure whether it's because Barclays provide finance for Next? Now I'm sitting…

Should I stick with one card or get another?
I've always avoided credit and finance but last year I decided to get a credit card. We were planning a holiday that fell through so were going to use the card for spending abroad. I have a nationwide select credit card, it was 20 months 0% BT which meant nothing to me as I had no debt to BT, it also has 0.5% cashback and…

Newbie Credit Card Question
If I get a credit card and pay it off in full every month, I won't have fees, is that right? (if I don't take money from ATM, currency advance etc...) Are there Credit Cards that charge a fee even if you pay off in full every month that I should look out for - how can I tell?

£1 Amazon Credit Card Fee
There seems to be a £1 minimum fee on an Amazon Credit Card so if you don't use it one month you still get charged £1 that month. Did I read it correctly?

Balance transfer proportions?
Hi, I have £3500 on a Barclaycard, with 2 different rates. £2000 is at 0% from a previous BT, and £1500 is at 9.9% from cash withdrawals. I have the opportunity to transfer up to £1900 to a new 0% BOS card. If I BT £1500 from BC to BOS will that be the 'cash' portion of the BC debt moved, leaving the whole debt at 0%, or…
