Question about cancelling cards and forgotten cards
Hello everyone. I'm debt-free! Hooray! Mind you, I still live in a rented accommodation, and I wouldn't mind buying my own place some day, and getting a mortgage for it, preferably a competitive one. So I thought I'd improve my credit status, and cancel all the credit cards I don't need. So far, I've cancelled two of them.…

Well done Egg
Hi Just thought I should post a thread congratulating Egg on identifying my Egg Money card had been cloned. It was used on iTunes at 10:45 for 51p and blocked as Egg realised it was not part of my normal spend profile. I wonder how many other credit card companies would have blocked such a small value transaction. Yes, it…

Well after 3 years or so of using my virgin credit card (to get airmiles), I have decided to use the airmiles I have racked up. Over the last 3 years I used the card to pay my bills (phone, internet, shopping, petrol, trains (virgin of course) and flights) and paid the card off each month - this month being the exception…

Citi Shell Credit Card nice surprise!
Well what do you know I've had the card since beginning of November, bought Shell petrol at a 'proper' Shell garage each month and each month the 'cashback' has just been rolled over to the next month. Tonight I got out each statement to work out the cashback as I knew what was being quoted was wrong, I had queried it and…

CC Debt
Not sure if this is the correct board so I am just going to be cheeky and post it on another board as well. Firstly, Thanks a lot to all you good people on MSE I was foolish enough to ignore a credit card debit of £3,000 back in 2006. This was then taken to court and a ccj followed by an interim charge on my share…

claiming credit card charges back
Read in Martins weekly update about claiming back unfair credit card charges. I have been charged 'just' interest (£54) but had no fixed fee imposed as Martin mentions (he talks of these normally being £12). Does reclaiming mean I can claim back interest? Thank you
