in Credit cards
Well after 3 years or so of using my virgin credit card (to get airmiles), I have decided to use the airmiles I have racked up.
Over the last 3 years I used the card to pay my bills (phone, internet, shopping, petrol, trains (virgin of course) and flights) and paid the card off each month - this month being the exception due to my car packin up.
I managed to get about 90000 airmiles points.
Breakdown of my points over 3 years (all points with virgin have been x4 due to the nature of the card i got)
6000 points - introductory sign up bonus
13042 points - virgin flight to Boston USA (return with my fiance! to go to her fathers wedding)
16376 points - virgin train travel across the UK (job related)
4800 points - virgin mobile bills
3600 points - virgin internet bills
9986 points - shopping (groceries)
14484 points - petrol
22560 points - honeymoon to johannesburg for my brother (parents paid, but used my card so i can get the points)
so i have enough for myself and my fiance! to go to boston USA to see her father, which in 3 years gettin 2 tickets to USA for free is a good deal to me! anyone else done this?

I use the VS Amex Black. Miles from that, in conjunction with miles earned from (on average) three flights a years, I mainly use for upgrades.0
