Declined HSBC card for plastic loan, what now?
I'd like to do a plastic loan to pay off a £4k loan with Barclays that's at a high APR (around 16% I think), that they won't refinance at a lower rate. I signed up for and got an Egg Money card. I applied for the HSBC that had 2.9% on balance transfers for 24 months, and I was declined. I'm not sure why I was declined. I…

Can some lovely Moneysaver help me? Does anyone remember, or did they apply for the Barclaycard offer last Sept/Oct that was listed on this site? CC application advice
At the end of this month, I will have no defaults showing on my credit file, nothing but "green 1"'s on my other accounts (i.e no missed or late payments), and the only negative thing on there is a £3k CCJ from 2004 (which is showing as settled in Aug 2007). I would like a CC with about £2000 limit, but I don't want to…

Consumer Credit Act Protection
Hi, This is the first time that I have ventured into this part of the forum so these are new waters to me. I need so help understanding the protection offered under the Consumer Credit Act when using a credit card. Capital One Platinum credit limit?
Hi I've just been approved for one of these but the card hasn't arrived yet. They told me I had a provisional credit limit of only £2000, which is not enough even for by BT (3k), never mind actually using the card as well! The question is, is this standard? Is my credit limit likely to rise immediately to something I can…

different interest rates for cash, purchases and balance transfers
I just looked at the paperwork for hubbys credit card again yesterday and theres three different interest rates - a high one for cash, a bit less for purchases, a bit less for balance transfers. The statement states the amount of interest each one accrues each month, but not the outstanding amount. So I have no idea how…

More 0% BT cards than needed!
Coming to the end of a particular BT 0% offer period, in readiness for the next shuffle, I applied for several cards. Accepted on them all, I now have more 0% BT cards with more credit limit than I need (after doing the shuffle) I recall Martin saying in the past use them, although I'm not sure for what. I'm concerned that…

Cancelled Capital 1 card and told I could apply again in a week!
Today I phoned up Capital One and asked to cancel my credit card. The account was actually in credit thanks to the cashback I've accumulated and I've transferred the credit to another credit card. I was told that I could apply after a week for their 4% cashback for their credit card. I thought I would have to wait 6 months!
