Credit Card info needed please

I have held my present Credit Card for at least 25 years,it a Coop Bank card.

Without fail, no matter what amount is on it I pay in full every month so as not to acrue any charges.

Last month is transpires my payment took 11 days to reach them.....so they have charged me £17.70 interest...... icon_eek.gif

I know it was coming up to christmas and a weekend came in the middle, but 11 days first class post is ridiculous.

I rang them yesterday to query it, to be told by a young lady there are other methods of payment....I repeated time and time again this method has worked for at least 25 years and I am not happy.

Apart from repeating herself over and over she had nothing else to say.

SO, I will have to pay it, but am planning on never using the card again..I will cut it up asap.....I will need to set up another before hand.....so my question is what other card can I have and NOT pay interest if I pay as now in full every month.

JB
Waddle you do eh?

Your 'beef' is with Royal Mail, not the Co-op.

All cards will charge you interest (and late payment fees) if you pay late.

If you decide to stop using the card, make sure you cancel it formally rather than just cutting it up. This is for your own protection.

Why not set up a full payment DD if you always pay in full? After all, posting cheques is so 'last year'!
  • if you always pay it off in full you'd be better getting one that gives cashback - then they'll be paying you to use it :D Read Martin's article to find the best one. And definately set up a diect debit or pay on line, I would never trust the post!

Clearly the fault lies with the Royal Mail and yourself, however as a loyal customer to the Coop you could try calling again and you may well get a slightly more sympathetic c/s agent who may well be willing to waive the interest charge, but there is another however as they could turn round and say that we could have charged you an additional £12 late payment fee, but haven't.

Learn from the experience and set up a DD.

All credit cards are interest free providing you pay in full by the due date.
