Balance transfers and overall credit limits
Hi all, hope this makes enough sense for someone to answer :) I've done a 0% balance transfer from a nearly-maxed card of 5K recently and the credit limit on the new one wasn't enough to pay off the entire balance so there was a thousand left on the initial card (and therefore remaining useable credit of 4K). So I now have…

Urgent Dilemna
Hi there. I wonder if anyone could give their thoughts as to what to do. Last year, I moved over from Wakefield (sold my house) and bought a flat in Newton-Le-Willows in Merseyside. I like the flat and the area and even now have a lodger to help with bills. However, my financial situation is very tight. I don't spend…

Egg 0% Anniversary Offer
Just a warning. I have just taken up Egg's anniversary offer and advanced a sum at what I thought would be 0%. I knew there was an admin fee (2.5%) but when I received the statement there was an interest charge. On questioning this I am informed that Egg has charged the interest on the admin fee! Surely this is the charge…

Too much available credit?
My mother has 25 accounts showing on her credit report, 1 is a current account, 2 are known loans. The rest are credit cards and catalogue accounts. We are trying to consolidate the two loans (to remove PPI on one, and so we can pay chunks off the other), so could the amount of open used credit be detremental to getting a…

Best credit card for a student?
Hi, I have never had a credit card and am after one purely to increse my credit rating. I only intend to use it for purchases such as petrol and pay off the total balance straight away. I am 23 and returning to be a student again in a month, so is a student card the way to go? If so, any suggestions? Thanks for any help.
