My abbey statement for my platinum cashback credit card states today that they are now operating a rewards sceme and discontinued the cashback scheme. I have about £60 cashback to come but now it will be converted to points so I will lose out. What a rip off. Apart from that, have you tried to talk to anyone at Abbey lately. It's all automated!! I have just spent an hour on the phone getting absolutely nowhere. Sod them (excuse my french) I won't use the again.

Have you tried getting round the menus by not pushing any buttons for them? Works with most systems - I've found they put you through to a human in fairly short order.

i've had it where if you press several buttons - the system does not recognise so it puts you straight through

On the couple I tried that with, they kept repeating the menu until you hit a combination they liked :rotfl:

It's ridiculous, you just can't talk to a human. They're all robots!

According to Paul English's website, if you phone Abbey and just hang on, ignoring the prompts and not pressing anything, eventually you will get to speak to a human being.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

Does anyone know of the website for there Abbey points. I had a word with them and they have confirmed that I can cash my current points in for £80 which I have done, but I would like to have a look at the site. Mysteriously, Abbey have nothing on their site about the Rewards programme. Strange!!

if you go on the abbey site, and go into which ever product hit the call back button, input your number they will call you back free of charge, and you get through to the auto phone at first, then dial 0# and you will speak to a human being.

    Hello Hansi,

Try going to abbeycreditcard.com - this is slightly different from the abbey.com site, but allows you to check the credit card points Rewards programme through the online credit card servicing portal.

    Thanks!
