Credit Report - This can't be right?
Hello all, Some years ago I bought a car that I was running as a company car. I opted out of the company car scheme and had a cash payment instead. Although the monthly repayments were high, I could afford it as work were effectively paying the HP for me. Then, the company went bust... I ended up handing the car back after…

Hello, I am a former debtor of MBNA. I (eventually) settled my debt some 3 years ago and would very much like to rebuild my credit rating. Now apparently one of the ways to do this is by getting a credit card, which could prove, um, problematic. So what I would very much like to know is is it feasible to expect a credit…

Hi there, Does anyone know if it's possible to cancel payment protection on a credit card, Cause at the mo, paying that on top of the interest, all because i didn't transfer the balance on to another card, so it feels like your not making a dent in paying off the card, which i no longer use. I recieved a letter from them yesterday (though they dated it 05 April 06) saying that they can't give me the deal that I applied for but can give me an "Initial Barclaycard Barclaycard with a purchase APR of 24.9% (variable). That isn't the problem, the…

Current account searches
Nope, not the wrong forum - this is a point relating to my cards. Last June, a 'current account' search was performed on my Experian record - it was for an Alliance and Leicester account that I was applying for but didnt actually open. Its main selling point was an overdraft, though this is not recorded on the search. Is…

Recently I went for a Post Office credit card - they were only doing 0% for six months but they weren't charging a balance transfer fee (which would have cost me around £60) like…

Credit card woes...
I got myself a Virgin Credit Card last September, and transferred my balance from my old card across. I then topped the balance with purchases for my wedding next July. Since I had a chunk of savings in a Mini Cash ISA, I then contacted the ISA account by letter to transfer £900 to my Virgin Credit Card account, thereby…

Tesco credit card & clubcard points question
I have already asked this in the forum which invited questions about Clubcard points but got no replies so I thought I'd try here.... Which is better to have in terms of what you get back? A 1% cashback credit card (which I already have and which has no end date for the 1%) or a Tesco credit card for which you get clubcard…

when to pay the full balance?
Hi, Having a bit of a bone moment here. My Tesco CC 0% on purchases ends on 6th May. In order to avoid any interest charges, should I pay off what I owe them on/before that date, or can I just pay the balance in full on the next payment date after the 6th May and still avoid any interest charges? I suppose I am wondering…

0% for 10 months with Barclaycard
Martin's tip of 29.3.06 included Barclaycard's 0% for 10 months offer, which closes 28.4.06. You have to go to a special Url rather than the Barclaycard website. I've applied and all's going through, but my dad wants one too! Thing is (due to office move, crashing inboxes and general administrative mayhem) I've lost the…
