Credit Report - This can't be right?

Hello all,

Some years ago I bought a car that I was running as a company car. I opted out of the company car scheme and had a cash payment instead. Although the monthly repayments were high, I could afford it as work were effectively paying the HP for me. Then, the company went bust...
I ended up handing the car back after struggling to meet the repayments for a couple of months - this was marked as a Voluntary Termination.

I have an older credit report here from Oct 05 that details this. The relevant info is:

Acc Type: Hire Purchase / Conditional Sale
Special Instruction Indicator: Voluntary Termination
Special Instruction Start Date: 11/99
Started: 11/09/1998
Settled on: 22/02/2000
File Updated for period up to: 12/03/2000

Yesterday I ran a report with Checkmyfile and was stunned to find the following:

Company Type: Finance House
Account Type: Hire Purchase
Last Update: 08/03/2006
Start Date:
Start Balance: £0.00
Current Balance: Account closed on 28/02/2006 with an outstanding balance of £28.00
Credit Limit: Not Applicable
Regular Repayment Amount: £541.00
Number of Repayments: 36
Repayment Frequency: Monthly
Worst Status: Default

What's going on? I thought I was rid of this by now under the 6 year rule which was the reason I did the checkmyfile report. Does this now mean another 6 years from 8/3/2006? I have not had any communication with Honda Finance since I handed the car back and they declared the account settled 6 odd years ago. Needless to say I don't have that letter anymore though!

Aaaaaarrrgggghhhhh!

That default date show be "Special Instruction Start Date: 11/99"

So the default show have been removed in 11/05 (6 year rule) regardless if you paided the outstanding balance or not.

Query the infomation, and ask them to remove it. hope this helps.
