I bought a new DS from Woolworths last November for a Christmas present, when it was opened Christmas day it didn't work. Alas no Woolworths to return it to, and my credit card company said because it only cost £89 I wasn't covered. So I returned it to Nintendo under warranty, they came back and said that the failure was…

No refund or replacement if no packaging?
Can I just check out your opinions on this please? My mum bought my son a little radio control car as a gift, a few days after opening it, we noticed it started moving on its own, we tried to switch it off, but the on/off button was 'loose' and so the only way to stop it 'moving' was to take the batteries out. (We assume…

Obligation to supply?
I'd appreciate a view on this situation. Last week I ordered a TV off a well known internet retailer. The TV was priced at that time at £400, but there was one available under their 'Used and New' section for £340. It was described as being 'as new' but with the box opened. I imagined it was a return. I placed an order.…

Have 12 month warranties been replaced by 30 day approvals?
I recent contacted Kleeneze about a Microfibre Mop I purchased through their catalogue at the end of last year. A few weeks later it started to collapse when extended to full length for cleaning use, so was therefore unfit for purpose. As this was Christmas time I waited til just recently to deal with it as I was left with…

How long should it take for a refund?
My husband has just cancelled his car insurance policy and asked for a refund. He was'nt happy about some charges on the policy that they agreed to refund but never did. It was an expensive policy as it has our 17 year old daughter on as a learner driver, so I'm worried were going to struggle to get it back from them. He…

Faulty electric guitar.
I have a Line 6 Variax 300 electric guitar. It's a digital guitar and so requires power to operate and emulates the sounds of various famous guitars. However, it is faulty. I got one for Christmas in 2007 and it stopped working completely in January 2008 so I got a replacement. Then in October of 2008 one of the strings…
