I have just been to Taunton County court regarding a claim I put in for a holiday cottage that was disgusting. I have been awarded my claim for all my money plus costs back. The defendant didnt turn up in court. What happens now. The judge did say that he had 14 days to pay. Do the courts get in touch with him and tell him to pay? Does he send the money to me? As I have never had anything like this before not sure of the procedure. Could anyone advise me the next step.
Thanks.
Thanks.

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.:hello:0 -
Getting the judgement is only the first step in what could be a long process to see any cash - start by reading through the options here...

The holiday company will have been informed of the judgment. They will be told to pay you and be given your name and address for payment. Don't start any enforcement proceedings until the 14 day limit has passed.
You could write a simple letter saying "As you know, Taunton County Court has awarded judgment in my favour. In accordance with that judgment, please make payment to me and send it to .... <address>.
Then waitWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
