I'm having a major dispute with A&L who are refusing to accept that they have ballsed up big time. (well, they did initially and have back tracked!)
I would like access to the phone converstions I've had with the various and numerous call centre staff as I know that they'd be proved wrong.
Can I aks for a recording under the data protection act??
Not sure if this is the correct place to post!
thanks.

I think the OP means can she ask for THEIR recordings of the phone calls.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0

I think you can ask for them to be played back to you on the phone but I don't know as they would actually supply you with a recording say onto a CD. I suppose you could ask them to play it back to you on the phone and tape it but you would have to tell them in advance that you were doing this I expect.0

As far as I know they can only send you transcripts. But I could be wrong.0

You can ask for all information they hold for you under the Data Protection Act, they are entitled to charge you a nominal amount for providing this

If they have messed up and won't sort it, complain to the FOS they are good at dealing with situations like this.No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
Thanks for the replies. I actually received a call from A&L today to apologise for THEIR mistake!!! It must have been becuase I told them I was penning a letter to the financial ombudsman and women in the sunday times who deals with incompetent banks and organisations!
Think I may actually tape conversations myself from now on!£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -

Just remember you would need to advise everyine that you speak to that you are recording them (to be covered legally)0 -
..I don't think that is correct, though if you wanted to use the recording in court, you may need their permission.0
