Just remember you would need to advise everyine that you speak to that you are recording them (to be covered legally)

Before you speak read out a transcript

"calls may be recorded for family training purposes, in order that we correctly learn how to deal with other institutions when conversing over the phone"

    then hit the record button....
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:

Some companies record all calls, some companies only record calls occasionally (maybe at random) and use these for training purposes. I suppose you could tell from the disclaimer they play to you, eg. "your call WILL be recorded for training purposes", "your call MAY be recorded for training purposes".

You can request CDs of your calls but obviously this would depend on whether or not they were recorded in the first place, and also would depend I imagine on how long they keep recordings for. If they have got rid of the actual recordings they may have transcripts of them.

I don't think you have any right to the recording unless it is covered under the data protection act. It may well be. I used to work in a bank and yeah they only use it prove customers wrong. Occasionally to sort things out but we would never admit the customer was right just that we were being extra nice. We used to get customers wanting the recording but we never gave ( this was before data protection act)
