Which bank is most lenient ?
Anyone had a basic account with Barclays/HSBC and know how lenient they are when it comes to upgrading to full current account? DRO ends next month- and will be on credit file for another 5 years. Want to try to build up a history with a bank, though Barclays were one of my creditors in my DRO so does that mean no credit…

Santander App log-in problem
I tried to log in to my Santander accounts this morning using the mobile app. I entered my PIN but it was rejected so was extra careful when I entered the correct PIN on a second and third attempts. Unfortunately I received an error message with a request to call a specific phone number. On calling the number it gave me…

Verifying Nationwide Monthly Pay-in
I have just opened a FlexDirect account with Nationwide and want to take advantage of its one-year interest rate of 5% on the first £2,500, assuming a pay-in of £1,000 a month. I don't earn £1,000 a month (yet) to add to the account, but I have read it is possible to move money through external transfers to meet the pay-in…

Bank of Scotland Current Accounts
I've noticed a few changes to BoS terms and conditions taking effect in September. I wonder if we are in for a range refresh soon? Their current account offering doesn't seem as good as it once was (with the new DD requirement). I'd hoped for a Club Lloyds type offering but that's never materialised. Anyone with info?

TSB preferences 'problem'
I wonder if anyone else has had this problem. Halifax closed my bank account - Few questions
About 3 months ago I got a phone call to my mobile, from withheld number, the lady on the phone said she is from Halifax Review, calling to inquire about certain Skrill (Moneybookers) transactions in my account. HSBC Accounts Past Debt
If you had a past debt with HSBC on one of their credit cards 15 years ago (possibly up to around 1000 GBP) and it was written off during a bankruptcy order . . . Would that stop you from getting a current account in the present day with a reasonably good credit file ? Seems to be a mixed consensus on which companies do…

Question about Bank Transfers and Fraud
Let's say somebody offers to provide me with a service in exchange for £40 transferred from my bank account to theirs. It seems like this is a potential scam and the service may never be delivered. But my question is, would I lose anything more than the £40 I transferred? Can they do anything with my bank details to…
