Holiday banking transactions- help!

We just returned from.a holiday in Switzerland yesterday. Banking help! We filled our cars up near our campsite, then just topped up the tanks near the airport yesterday (my friend blocked her card so we were paying for her transactions too). Petrol top ups were 33F and 27F (approx £25 and £20). This morning they have come out our acc at £48 and £40. Furthermore, the petrol station have made a mistake and they also took two transactions of £181 at the same time. They've now cancelled those payments but we've been told it can take two weeks you return to us. Anyone have any idea how long these things take? Is it actually two weeks? And how productive would disputing the petrol amounts be? It's not a couple of quid, it's over £40! We bank with RBS.

A couple of weeks is probably not unreasonable for refunding a foreign transaction. It sounds to me like the petrol purchases have been duplicated, but whatever the cause you should dispute it with RBS - do you still have the receipts?0
