Is online banking safe?
I may be a little paranoid but after seeing various TV programmes about internet fraud I immediately cancelled my internet online banking account. I realise that there are benefits to online banking but my question is, Is online banking safe?

Strange goings-on with Lloyds current account
Hi everyone, my Wife has just noticed that £140 has been deposited into her Lloyds current account with an entry next to it that starts 'PP' and loads of numbers after it. She's phoned Lloyds and the bloke she spoke to was about as useful as a chocolate fireguard! All he said was to wait to see if the amount will be…

Charge-free basic bank accounts for the non-poor
All the commentary about the new basic bank accounts seems to suggest they are for the poor. But aren't they useful for everyone? If you have to give your bank account/debit card details to someone you don't entirely trust then having an account that will refuse payments that will take you overdrawn and not charge you for…

Halifax Reward Current Account
Hi, I currently have my main current account with first direct. Their service has been great, however I'm thinking of switching to take advantage of the Halifax Reward account. £100 bonus and £5 per month reward sounds like it probably is the best account for me. I've got another account with TSB but am not really keen on…

This so called friend was taking out a lot more money that the person agreed to. Can I just ask does this lie with the cardholder as their stupid fault for giving a friend…

Hi, Wasn't sure quite where to post this, and i'm drawing blanks on Google. 13 months ago we completed on buying our house and received a check from our Solicitors for £521 - basically what was left after they'd done searches, etc etc (we sent them a larger amount of money, they do the searches they need to do, then they…

I have got a contract from EE which is a Microsoft Nokia Lumia 550, this phone came out just under 2 months ago, so it is fairly new. I have paying £17.49 for Unlimited Texts, 500 Minutes, and 500MB. Nationwide closing my accounts with no explanation
So I received a letter from Nationwide informing me that both my accounts with them will be closed: one is a free FlexAccount and the other is a FlexPlus account for which I pay £10 a month. Interestingly my surname was printed with one letter wrong, which I found odd, considering that these types of letters are usually…

Fraud - but why?
I've received a letter at my parents' house (I no longer live there) saying I've signed up to a magazine subscription and the direct debit has been set up. Elderley people and current accounts
No doubt we have all read about the 93 year old gentleman who was robbed of £23K in an ATM scam. (Very well done to the bank for repaying him!) My question is why did he have so much money in his current account? This is a battle I have with my elderly Mother-in-Law. Every so often she asks me to look at her accounts and…
