Santander Everyday Account

Hello!

Do any Santander customers know whether it's possible to have two Santander Everyday accounts and be able to view them on the same banking screen and app? I would like to open one in the new year then would need to open the second one a few months later. Can the second one be opened online through 'Internet Banking?'

I don't pay enough fills to benefit from the Santander 123 so it would be a waste to apply for that especially now that the fees will be increasing.

If this isn't possible with Santander, can this also be done with Natwest and Barclays? As I do everything online, online banking facilities are really important for me. Can someone advise which would be the best to go for out of the three?

Oh. Also need to mention that the second account will be used for freelance work which is why I would like to have two.

Thank you.

You definitely can see two different account in online banking, and I don't see any possible reasons for restricting the number of Everyday accounts to one per a customer.

Why not look at two Tesco current accounts? At least they pay you interest.

Thanks for the reply! I suppose they only restrict you from having multiples when it's an reward account like the 123, etc.

    Thanks. :)

I just need two normal, no fuss accounts. Didn't think any of these would pay interest. Thanks for the head's up. I will definitely check out the Tesco ones! :)

You can view your accounts with one login with all those banks you mentioned.

But as above, if its just for a regular daily account definitely go with the Tesco account with interest and no requirements to mess around with.

Tesco ones sound good. You get some interest without the requirements - like you mentioned. Thanks! :)

Just a word of caution, i'm in the midst of a nightmare with my Post Office Current Account (Bank of Ireland), have been for some time and because I can't walk into a physical branch and sort it, it's been even more of a nightmare.

I am actually going with Santander as i've a local branch and it meets my other requirements.

Should there be account trouble you'll be restricted to phone calls and letters to sort it out. If both of those fail, as has happened with me, it will be H***, trust me!

I am never again going with any bank service where I can't walk into a branch.

Tesco Bank is fine, they have a superb CS, and excellent online facilities.

The PO, on the other hand, have very poor CS, and their online facilities are very restrictive. Countless people, incl myself, have had problems getting their money out of PO accounts. BTW, you can walk into a "Branch" to discuss your PO accounts: http://www.postoffice.co.uk/branch-finder. But don't expect they will help you any more than their CS does on the phone.
