From July they charge if you go £10 or more into your overdraft and not only charge interest at the standard rate but also an additional £6 per…

First Direct MSE Referall £125 Cashback Ends 30th April
It says it ends 30th April. Does this mean that my ex-FD account needs to be transfered BEFORE 30th April, or does that mean I can apply to get this as late as 30th April? I may open up an account with them and transfer my current account to them, but am aware I have left this late.

Replacement for Microsoft Money
I've been using Microsoft Money for a few years, but given that it's no longer supported I'm looking for something else. Given that things have moved on a little since I started with this, I would like something like an app that is then accessible on other devices so I can update on the laptop or PC and my husband can also…

Santander Automatic Deposit Machine Error
My partner used the automatic deposit machine in Santander to pay in our wages. This is the machine that counts the notes for you then instantly credits it to your account. He (perhaps stupidly) didnt count the combined total of our wages before feeding it in the machine but didnt expect a problem Once he put the notes in…

Packaged / Debit Card Advice
Long time lurker! Finally decided to make an account and ask, rather than simply looking around. I'm after a new bank account. Although it may seem shallow, I'm attracted to cards that look nice. Black cards are preferred. The white HSBC card with the world map looks nice too, but I'm not sure how nice it is. I've only…

Barclays or HSBC for current account?
Since RBS has elected to do like Lloyds in regards to overdraft charges (fee + interest), I've been looking to move my main account elsewhere. If I use my overdraft, it's only for a few days a month and never in excess of £100, so the RBS new charging scheme is very expensive compared to the current one, which doesn't cost…

First Direct - anyone else had bad customer service?
Just wondering if anyone else has had bad customer service from First Direct? I'm feeling a bit left out, given the number of reports of excellent service they always receive on MSE! student 0% overdraft and stoozing
Hi, I have a student account which gives a £1500 overdraft at 0%, I was considering stoozing this in a savings account to make interest on it, but wanted to check whether being seen to be constantly using my overdraft/never being in credit would a) show up on my credit rating and b) have any negative effect on future…

Nationwide non sterling transaction fee and/or a non sterling cash fee
I had a Nationwide flexaccount current account that as far as I remember, did not charge a fee when I withdrew euros from a cash machine abroad. It's been a while since I used it. I've just opened a FlexDirect account and was abroad and used it to pay a bill and also withdraw euros from an ATM. I've just come home and…

Does anyone have anything good to say about Think Money?
That's it, really! I'm beginning to suspect that they're my only solution and I'll have to suck up the fee. Co-op are closing my account for having three returned DDs, can't go to Nationwide as about five years ago I inadvertently racked up charges when I failed to cancel a DD. I didn't realise (being an idiot) that this…

Why do natwest employees ask so many questions when opening a simple product??
Whenever i want to open something with natwest, whether it be another current account or a savings account or a credit card, the 'advisors' on the other end of the phone keeps probing me with questions - sometimes not even related to the products itself. For example, recently i tried to open an instant savings account with…
