Does anyone know of any banks or building societies that still use the passbooks? I have asked around but not had any luck, I am trying to teach my kids to save and i would like them to see in the book what money they have in their accounts. Thanks

Passbook is gone for Halifax, they took my DDs books off me to destroy. It's a shame as the visual power of watching savings grow for kids can be quite powerful, they send state, emits annually which doesn't have the same impact.0 -
Why not teach them to keep their own written record of what's in the account? A useful maths lesson and an important lesson for the future.0

My 11 yr old has a passbook with Nationwide, rubbish interest though, its a Smart account and you can upgrade to a card account when age 11 (did this but he now has 1 passbk and 1 card account)."Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it": Ferris Bueller
