Is this legal as far as Halifax Reward application goes?
for those of you with excellent memories, you may remember some hassle i had with this account & then my g/f getting refused hers, and then both of us were refused a joint. She applied again (in between being refused her solo and refused a joint) but changed some of the details. They weren't outright lying changes, but…

Money spend in store, back in account!
I used my maestro card (with Natwest) in Primark at the weekend, I didn't spend a huge amount, less than £20. The transaction appeared in my account online that evening as pending as is normal, but, on checking this evening the transaction has vanished and my balance is nearly £20 better off! I've never had this happen…

Barclays Dither on Current Account Application
In November last year I applied (online) for a Barclays Current Account. I had to answer some questions about my credit history in order to verify my ID. Unfortunately, I did not answer their questions to their satisfaction so they requested that I take my ID into the branch. I did so a week before Xmas, as soon as I…

Want to leave A&L after 2 months...
and return to my thankfully not closed Halifax account (having borrowed from elsewhere to clear the damned OD that was the bugbear that caused me to - rashly with the benefit of hindsight - stick two fingers up to them). Does anyone know if I will be penalised for this? I appreciate that they will probably want their £100…

Paying over the counter question
I paid some money over the counter in my local HSBC branch at about 3.30ish today and I said I didn't need a receipt as I never get one. When I looked in my bank just now the money hasn't come into my bank account and it usually goes in instantly. Does anyone know why? Is there anything I can do? Thanks Sam

Victim of Debit card Fraud
While I was checking our account today online I noticed a transaction for £152.04 taken from the account by a company called Caleigh Harbour LL? strange one I thought. When I got home I checked with OH and he did not recognise it either. I rang the bank and they confirmed that a transaction had been done either by phone or…

Changing Euros...
This year I am going to try and cut down on my spending, reduce my credit card debts, and generally save money where I can. One area I have identified as a waste of money is in currency exchange. In my self employed part time business I do quite a bit of trade in the Republic of Ireland, and am paid in Euros. If I lodge…

Carphone Warehouse are stealing from me, HELP!
Hi, A long long time ago, I took out a contract with CPW. Since, I have been charged a quarterly recurring amount of 27.95 by direct debit, I believe this is actually phone insurance costs but I am not entirely sure. Now, the story goes that this contract was taken out back when I was not old enough to actually own my own…

I recently applied to open a current account with RBS. I applied online then received the forms to be signed through the post. I took the forms to a local branch with all the ID info they requested, one part of which was 2 of my Nationwide statements. About 2 weeks later I received a letter saying they needed my 2 most…

Lloyds TSB cocked up, now want money from me! Am i in the right here?
Hi everyone. I used to hold an account with Lloyds TSB, basically it was a debit card account with NO OVERDRAFT in place, just a simple money in, money out account. I lost my debit card and phoned them to cancel the card, they said it had been done and sent me a new one out as normal. I used this new card for 3 months when…

Barclays Bank - Useless. Advice needed.
Hi Guys and Gals, I must ask your advice one more time! HSBC refusing access to online banking?
I wonder if anybody has heard of this happening? My hubby banks with HSBC and has done for many years. In June 2009 he was made redundant and he called HSBC to explain he would not have a salary coming in whilst he looked for work – they would do nothing to help him, they wouldn’t reduce or delay his loan repayments,…
