The best (and worst) music when you are on hold poll
My number one is defiantly the Skipton BS, light Rockabilly soothing my nerves while the 0845 phone number empty my small pennies jar. The worst must be Tiscali with the stupid Electro pop headache on the dreaded 0871. The longest running tune must be on the NatWest lines, I think it was there in 2000 when I opened…

I want to transfer funds to my nationwide flexaccount using CHAPS. However it appears that the account number on my flexaccount has one extra digit making it 9, when i should be expecting 8 digits. What counts as a current account?
Daft question! My other half and I want to get a joint account to pay the mortgage and all household bills from. I don't especially want to give up my personal current account, so the question is, should we be going for a current account or a savings account? Do current accounts insist you deposit your salary in there?…

Some constructive advice needed :-)
Morning moneysavers I'm after some advice about restructuring an overdraft into a more affordable solution. For a full transcript of my situation, I have posted under Debt Free Wannabe, and my journey into a Debt Free life. Its long, apologies for that, but a lot of detail. My OH and I separated last year, various debts…

B***dy bank charges!
 I'm trying, really I am! Despite meeting with our new - very nice - bank manager last week to plead my case as to why my bank account went overdrawn last month (by about £50) and she agreeing to waive the charges, I noticed today that I have actually been charged one of the £35 charges on my account. I'm really…

Lloyds TSB and the AA
Some TSB account holders get "free" AA membership as a benefit. It is surprising how many direct members do not realise the double membership. When I worked at the AA we were told NOT to inform these people because "it's up to them to know what they have" If you get membership via the bank remember to…

I had just enough money today to pay a longstanding direct debit before I get paid tomorrow. Another direct debit however, 'an initial payment' has come out as well, leaving the longstanding one to bounce and Natwest has immediately issued me with a £38 charge! £38!! Shocking! Anyway, they say its nothing to do with them,…

Hi guys, As a dedicated regular of this forum, I am warning everyone of the latest Phishing email that unfortunately I was victim to today!! Question about switching current account/history with bank?
Hopefully you guys might know more than me... I've been considering switching my current account, to either First Direct or A&L, based on current offers, interest rates, cashback & quidco deals etc. I have had my current account with NatWest for YEARS. I opened it as a teen as a card plus account, upgraded it to a student…
