LTSB Account

Hi,
Around beginning of March I opened up an LTSB Classic Plus account. I was offered a debit card and cheque but no overdraft facility.
Any idea how LTSB assess overdraft applications? Do they have any internal scoring system?
Also how long do I have wait to apply for an overdraft?
Thanks

Did they give you a cheque guarantee card or is it just a debit card and cheque book?? I opened a LTSB account a few years back and I had to wait 3 months for the cheque guarantee card and another 3 after that before I could apply for an overdraft.
As far as assessing overdraft applications, they really seem to be a law unto themselves on that score. Ask for an extra £50 to get you to payday when your car breaks down or something and they refuse, but then they double your overdraft when payroll mess up and your pay is going to be a week late.
Sorry I can't be more helpIf you can't think of anything good to say, then you're better off not saying anything0 -
It may be a bit early to apply for an overdraft considering that you only opened your Classic Plus account last month. However, you could apply for a small overdraft facility of (say) £100 to act as a safeguard/buffer zone should you accidently go overdrawn at some time.
Do you actually need an overdraft (ie.to use the money) or do you just want an overdraft facility to use in an emergency etc.? If you decide to apply either visit your local branch or apply online. If you choose to apply online just click onto the word 'overdraft' in the menu on the lefthand side of the screen & follow the onscreen prompts, it's a simple procedure.0 -
The cheque guarantee facility is slowly being withdrawn as less and less cheques are issued.
I agree that a small o/d of say £100 would be beneficial just in case but OP may have to wait 3 months to see how account is run.0
