standing orders

Hey and thanks for looking i don`t know if this is in the right thread but here goes. quite simply i just want to know that if you forget to cancel a standing order can you still get your money back from the company it was set up with?

    Not if it's a legitimate payment you've made. But if it's an 'overpayment' ... then yes, you just ask them.

    But there is no equivalent of the DD Guarantee which applies to SOs. And in the instance you appear to be mentioning, the DD Guarantee would be ineffective ... as no error has been made by the Bank or the company you're paying.
    If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

    it was a company i had debt with but the debt is paid off and i just forgot to cancel the SO. it has been i`d say a good few months of over payments, so i`ll just phone them up and ask.
