Debit Card Transactions disappeared overnight

Every month when i get paid I make 2 debit card transactions to a debt collector - I have been doing this for a year now with no problems. On Friday he debited my account as requested for £25 and £10 which showed on my Online Banking (I have a Natwest Step Account with a Solo card) so my transactions are updated immediately, they also showed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, today I went online to check my account and both of them have disappeared. Normally it takes a few days for the name of the company to appear but there is nothing and my balance has been amended accordingly. Should i process these payments again today, or shall i wait to see if they suddenly appear again. I don't want to pay double as I'm short of money this month.

Shouldn't you call your bank first to find out what happened?0

I have this account with Natwest.
What they do is immediately take the money from your account when you pay by debit card. This money remains as taken off your balance until the company concerned actually processess it from their end (when the name of the company appears next to the transaction). What may have happened is that the DCAs you have paid simply have not processed payments themselves. Natwest can only keep the money as spent for a few days before the transaction "disappears".
In other bank accounts that you may have noticed is that debit payments do not appear when you have spent, but takes a few days to be listed on your statement - when they have processed it through their systems.
You will find that it appears online again in the next day or two.0 -
That was much more concise, Al Mac!0

I was just going to post the same thing.
I made a payment on my Natwest Solo card (First Reserve Savings) and it showed up on blue on my online account for 3 days with no name. At Day 5, the balance reverted back and about 14 days later it showed on my account with the company name and debited the correct amount.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450 -
I wondered about that. This particular company are very quick usually in claiming their money, so I will calculate my actual balance at £35 less than it shows at the moment and see what happens over the next week.
Thanks everyone. In the 2 years that I have held this account, nothing like this has happended so i was slightly confused.0 -

Exactly the way to do it. But if the transactions don't materialise .... it's nothing to do with your Bank and you should contact the debt collectors direct. They've 'authorised' the transactions ... but not followed through with the online debit. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
