Email from Natwest asking for my bank details
For several weeks I have on a nearly daily basis received emails from Natwest asking for my bank details, account number, pasword etc. I usually just delete them as I do not and never have had an account with Natwest and I guessed that this was someone, not Natwest, trying to get my bank details. I have done my homework I…

Abbey - nuts
Just a little more nonsense from Abbey. I have a small business account and a saver account. The saver account has only £100 in it and hasn't been used for a few months - I don't really need it. I get a message on my internet banking to say the savings account has been disabled. I ring a few times to get through - maybe…

NWLL70AUTORECPTSDD on my NatWest Statement
Hi, A while ago I phoned NatWest about something and was told that I was a private banking customer and should call my account manager direct. This was news to me since I thought I just had an ordinary current account but I assumed it was just some kind of marketing plan to make their customers feel important so I thought…

When do I need a business account
Hello, I've got a full time job paid through PAYE, but also do a little bit of music teaching on the side, for which I'm paid by cash or cheque and it all gets declared through my tax return. At the moment, the amount of money coming in each week is very small (£20-£30), and gets deposited to a normal personal current…

Bank of Scotland £100???
Bank of Scotland are refusing to pay the £100 incentive for opening an account wth them. They say that is because I have a Halifax current account yet there is nothing in their promotion excluding such account holders. The details and link came via MSE email 16th May 2007. Any body else being treated same way?

First Direct incentives?
Hi all I'm thinking of opening an FD current account. Does anyone know of any incentives at the moment? I used to see £50 incentives all the time but am aware that they've changed their marketing strategy lately. Also, how long does it take to get the account open - is it quick (notwithstanding postal strikes)? Suze

Barclays strange goings on
I have just checked my current account online (today Saturday 6/10) and the funds (including cash) I paid in yesterday have not been credited to my account. However, there are three debits, all of which are dated Monday, 8/10 (next week). Consequently my account is in Debit by over £400. Whilst this is authorised because I…

A&L- Don't get caught out
I'm not very keen on A&L. They seem quite different to other banks online and I wouldn't ever want to use them as my main bank after being used to Nationwide and LloydsTSB. I've opened a Premier and a Premier Direct account ( £100 from quidco on its way to make up for the hassle). I've funded the P with £500 and wanted to…

Overdraft, can they do this
I have an overdraft which is being reduced on the 20th of each month by £50. This has been set up since Feb. The Abbey failed to reduce the amount on the 20th September. On the 27th September £50 disappeared from the account, and reappeared on the 28th. This Wednesday the same thing happened, £50 disappeared and reappeared…
