Barclays strange goings on

I have just checked my current account online (today Saturday 6/10) and the funds (including cash) I paid in yesterday have not been credited to my account. However, there are three debits, all of which are dated Monday, 8/10 (next week). Consequently my account is in Debit by over £400. Whilst this is authorised because I have an additions account, the current overdrawn status will no doubt attract interest charges, to which I object to, because I should be in credit.

Can anyone explain why this should occur please. I have emailed Barclays and will update this post when and if, I receive any explanation.

What time did you bank them IF it is after 4.30 they will not go on until monday.

I thought the cut off was 4.30 maybe it is 4.00 o'clock, and you missed it. I am sure Barclays will let you know soon or perhaps someone else on here can confirm.

We made a point of paying funds in yesterday, because I knew my mortgage would go out on Monday and that would be covered. Even if Barclays cut off time is 4 or 4.30, surely my funds should beat the mortgage takeout. I can't understand why the three debits due to be taken on Monday were in fact taken yesterday. Have they got a crystal ball or some sort of time machine ?

No they put regular payments on the account on a fri/sat so that the funds aren't used over the weekend debits are always taken before credits applied even if they go in the same day.

I think the cut off is 3.30 so anything paid after this will not show till Monday
