Fake Bank Draft Help!
Hi All! I am in a quandry! I was selling a valuable watch, an "Irish" buyer approached me and duly sent me a Bankers Draft for the full value (I haven't shipped the watch). I took the draft to my local money shop who agreed to advance me £1,070 and pay me the additional £2,000 when it cleared, no problem I thought. It…

Hello, Please could I ask for some advice. We went to our bank about a year ago and asked them if we could set up a plan to pay off our overdraft. Bank charges?
Had a quick search and have read discussion about bank charges but can't figure out whether the £12 capped charge has come into effect yet? Has it? and if so is it all banks or just certain ones? I can't believe that Halifax charge £39 for a missed direct debit and then take it out a week later when there's still not…

Has anyone had their overdraft removed?
It says in my account terms and conditions that overdrafts are "repayable on demand", does this mean the bank can remove it whenever they want? Has this happened to anyone before?

Cheque returned .... 4 months later ????
After checking my bank account online this morning I noticed that there was a £16.00 debit for a returned cheque. Faster Money Transfers on the way
I've posted here a few times that faster money transfers are on the way by November next year. As ever the government wants to take credit for something it hasn't had that much to do with, hence the following Reuters story today: The BBC also has a item on this. Regards Sunil

What would you ask Lloyds for?
Cutting a long story as short as possible. I've been a Lloyds customer for about 15 years (started off with TSB). I had a "normal" current account. I went into the branch for an account review (i.e. a sales pitch) and was offered an "upgrade" from the classic account to the select account. The manager explained that there…

The other side of the coin: The case for bank charges
I know I'm not the only one who thinks the banks are actually in the right over the bank charges issue. While I understand charges etc (for being pennies over overdraft limits, credit limits etc) can be annoying, the fact is you have agreed to pay any charges the banks apply in advance. Now, I know the argument is that…
