barclays say no to current account?

Hi all!
I am new to posting on this board but have found this site to be invaluable over the last couple of years, so first of all hats off to Martin and thanx.
now for the bit where I need some help / input please.
I have run a Barclays business account for 15 years now, but do not have a current account with any bank. I recently tried to open a current account with Barclays (thinking that as I have an established relationship with them this will be easier and quicker) only to be turned down.
Whilst I have had a chequered past as regarding credit, all that is 5 years behind me, and I qualified for a platinum visa Barclaycard in April of this year.
I have checked with Experian and they regard my credit info to be in a good state and could not see anything that would count against me with respect to opening an account.
I have heard that there is "white data" which is passed between banks regarding accounts. Could this be the source of my problem.
I have 1 ccj which is marked as satisfied, and my business account is run immaculately.
If anyone can give me an insight into this I would really appreciate it
Thankyou for looking

It could be many things that are blocking you, its impossible to say. Your best bet is to open a basic bank account and build up from there.
One thing worth mentioning, because it keeps coming up, is the notion of a credit 'score'. There is no such thing. The 'score' experian and the like give is their interpretation of the various factors, it is not the score anyone else would give.
For instance, if you have a few missed payments on your CC and you apply for a credit card with one company, they might love you because they know they will make money out of you. Another company might see you as a risk and turn you down. You just never know.
