Halifax Account

Hi,

I have applied for an Halifax Current Account and received a letter today informing me that my application has been declined.

Has anyone made an appeal and been sucsecsfull?

I'm not aware there's a 'right of appeal'?

But go into the Branch and ask why? Seems to have worked for others on previous threads. But don't think you'll get too far by writing - and they don't provide an Email facility unless you're an existing customer.

It's always worth trying to appeal the decision - the worst that can happen is they they decline you again without any further credit searches!

they will not know in branch - but they can telephone the underwriting team for you

you of course can appeal (this should be made in writing and then the branch will have to fax this across, or send original to underwriters) with the reasons why you think you should be accepted, - also worth getting copy of your credit file for yourself, - then you can use a copy of this to support your application

remember its not just credit score - but for example, time at address, time at job, voters roll, land line, other credit to assess, relationship with bank ect
