Mis-sold Fibre Optic
Hi, I have just in the process of getting a new broadband supplier, as it is going from residential to business they sent an engineer out to install it. He informed us that there has been a fault on our line, so in the past 5 years that I have been paying for fibre optic I haven’t actually been receiving it. Surely the…

Left without service after switching broadband/line rental from NowTV to BT
I've done several switches over past years between BT, Sky, Plusnet, and NowTV for landline/broadband which all went through without any issues, but I've now hit a problem with the latest move from NowTV to BT. I initiated a switch to BT to be activated on 20 Apr, just after the contract end date with NowTV. I received the…

Virgin Media issue
I asked for help on the Techie Board with this problem because I did not know about this one. Anyway my Virgin media broadband would not let me stream and I was getting messages saying the bandwidth was too narrow. I rang them and they wanted a one off fee of £20 and then a monthly fee to sort it out. I refused and said I…

EE Broadband Price Increase - June 2019
Hi All, Today I received EE's email informing me of the changes to my home broadband plan. The changes are that as of the 27th June 2019 they will be increasing my plan by £3 per month. I currently pay £25 p/month and began the 18 month contract in January. That's an increase of over 10%! I signed up for 18 months at £25…

no service for 16 days with vodafone broadband
Just after a bit of advice please , i had a total loss of service for 16 days. Vodafone are not starting to give automatic compensation till later in the summer so said i was not entitled to 14 days X £8.00 = £112.00 (this is what i was asking for). They first offered £30 , then £40( plus £17 ). Do you think this is a fair…

New build broadband installation
Hello all! Trying to get Broadband fibre set up in our new build apartment however Plusnet are saying they'll have to send an engineer out to install it for £50. There is already a master socket in the apartment along with another socket. Can I just do it myself and save the £50 and then order BB as usual? Hope you can…

Best landline free/4G router?
I’m moving business premises and I can’t have a landline in the building so everyone else uses a landline free router as the transmitter is outside the building. EE do these but it is an expensive contract. Does anyone know which other companies do these?

Does BT do this on purpose. Broadband Speed?
Hi All, Long story short. I have had a few weeks of awful internet speed. I am paying regularly for 70mb[s package. I totally understand that I should never expect to get 100% of the advertised but I've had weeks of intermitant drops in speed where the internet was as slow as 16mbps download and 18mbps upload. I think from…

Switched from plus.net to sky and getting charged from both.
Hey guys was looking for some advice, so basically in November 2018 I decided to switch my broadband provider from plusnet to sky as plusnets customer service was awful and was having connectivity issues. Fast forward to March 2019 and I realised I was still being charged from plusnet. My fault I wasn’t paying close enough…

Plusnet haggling and Vodafone website
I'm sure there used to be a Plusnet haggling thread here but it isn't showing in a search now so I'll just add my experience, Coming to the end of a 2 year deal with the 76Mb product. They had knocked it down to £12.01 + LR. I'm no longer overly fussed with the top product or fixed IP as I no longer run a home server but…

Leaving BT
Hi, I've been with BT for broadband & phone in excess of 20 years. I'm leaving because they are just so expensive and don't seem to value existing customers (like all the rest of the providers). I currently have Unlimited Fibre 2 and they are being very obstructive in downgrading me for some reason. They are adamant that…

BB or WiFi speed?
NowTV BB tell me I am getting 20meg supplied to my router but my 0.4-7.5meg speed on wifi is beyond their control. They have suggested the lights in the room and water in the radiators would impact - surely if this is the case it is unlikely anyone gets decent Wifi. I was getting speeds in excess of 17meg on the same…

BT Fibre monopoly on my property
My new build property has been supplied by BT. I've been here a couple years and I'm out-of-contract and due to pay £52/mo so I spoke with BT retentions, was offered a mediocre deal and decided to switch to PlusNet. But as it turns out, apparently I can't switch because BT are the only ones who can provide service to this…

Virgin Broadband & TV contract
Son and his GF moved into the first rented flat together. They signed up to a 1 year contract with Virgin but 4 weeks into their rental, the Landlord (who is the son of a major Edinburgh Letting Agency) sent an email full of apologies saying he needed to move back into his flat and gave them 28 days notice. Bitterly…
