Beware! - Today's BT broadband £29.99 is not fixed price
Martin Lewis on TV this morning mentioned a broadband & landline deal with BT for £29.99, 18 months fixed! Beware, this is not a fixed price for 18 months but you will be in a contract with them for 18 months. I just had a discussion on line where I nearly signed up with them thinking I was getting fixed price for 18…

Going from cable back to BT line
I am considering a Virgin cable offer for broadband, new in our street so great offer, if after the contract they want to bump up the cost does anyone know what it would cost for reconnection to a BT line for broadband with another supplier.
Do I Need to Pay for Fibre?
I am currently on Sky Fibre unlimited which was bought 18 months ago when they were installing Fibre. We have fibre to the cabinet but the fibre up our lane is still hanging from the telegraph poles unconnected I believe a way leave issue. I currently receive about 18-19.5 Mbs. My question is do I need to pay for fibre (to…
Plusnet - just unbelievably bad
Been with them for three years. Having so much trouble with them now for my house move.My guess is - things are probably fine as long as you never have anything to sort out.I've been without the internet now for three weeks ,they cannot tell me any information about what they are doing, each time I ring them their service…
Leaving Virgin
Hi I am leaving Virgin for Plusnet and was told that I can't leave before the 31 May due to me giving them 30 days notice even though my minimum term expires on 25 May. They are even refunding me by cheque! Does anyone know if both of these sound right. Many thanks in advance.
Switching Home Telecom to NowTV
Following the brilliant BROADBAND tool on here we realised we could save £20/month by switching to NOWTv from HomeTelecom. After very carefully completing the form we selected "KEEP EXISTING NUMBER". Unfortunately you never get a copy of the form and we got a stream of emails each with the message "Your NOW TV phone…
Post Office Broadband the worst I've ever tried
I made the mistake of switching to PO from Plusnet without checking any reviews. Never again. Every time I get a small download for a game, or watch a YouTube vid, my connection slows to <2Meg down and ~ 0.2Meg up. They sucked me in by bringing this in slowly and covered it up with the usual flannel of "speeds will vary…
auto-compensation scheme
I've signed up for Sky Fibre, got the equipment and my activation date is next Tue May 7th. However, all the various checkers say fibre is not currently available on my street. I have read a few stories where the engineer turns up, can't do it, then people have had to wait 12-18 months for a fibre-enabled green cabinet to…
Best way to extend Wi Fi signal to Garden room
I've just had a small garden office built in my garden but my wi fi (Talk Talk) won't extend that far. Its about 60ft from the house at the back of my garden. What is the most reliable way to extend the signal. I have an electric cable with a plug socket in the garden next to the new office which might help. Thanks.
Do I have to wait for existing contract to expire?
I’m interested in the current Bt fiber deal but my talktalk contract doesn’t expire until the 15th of may (2 weeks away and after the deal has finished) can I sign up to the bt deal but with a start date of the 16th like you can with mortgages or do I have to wait until after the 15th to look for a new deal? Thanks.
