auto-compensation scheme

I've signed up for Sky Fibre, got the equipment and my activation date is next Tue May 7th.
However, all the various checkers say fibre is not currently available on my street. I have read a few stories where the engineer turns up, can't do it, then people have had to wait 12-18 months for a fibre-enabled green cabinet to appear.
I was reading about the auto-compensation scheme
* If your new landline or broadband service is not up and running on the day promised you'll receive £5 for each calendar day it's delayed, including the missed start date. There's no limit on this, so you'll keep accruing the compensation until it's sorted.
Does this mean if it takes 12 months before Fibre is available, I'd be entitled to over £1800 compensation??
Also
* Compensation is automatically paid as bill credit within 30 working days of the issue
Is this 30 days of the issue being sorted, or 30 days of it starting. And if it's the latter, and it takes 12 months, does this mean they'll keep regularly paying me £150 a month till it's sorted?

Yeah, that's exactly what will happen...0

Interesting. I'll be annoyed if Fibre isn't available, but that's a nice sweetener to keep me going!
I did check with Sky who said Fibre was available at the time of order, but no longer, so I potentially grabbed the last free slot in the cabinet. Time will tell...0 -
Compo only if the ISP has signed up to the scheme .
Downside of the scheme is that OR charges are going to be passed on far more frequently by the ISP . Not forgetting more prise rises on the way .0 -

After 30 days of an automatic compensation payment occurring, they can serve a cease notice to let you know that automatic compensation payments would stop after a further 30 days.0
