Any better packages out there?
I've come under a little bit of pressure at home to try and cut down on the quartly bill that we get from BT. It averages out around 110-120 per quarter which I feel is too expensive considering we only really have the landline for broadband useage. The cost of calls only racks up about £13 (Most are evenings and weekends)…

Our company has been gradually building up an emailing list (like everyone else on the planet) but I'v e just found out that our broadband provider - orange - only allow 20 addressses to be emailed at a time. They quote security reasons. We have thousands on our list so every time we email our customers we have to perform…

Freeola broadband cancellation
Hi all I've ordered broadband and cancelled the order 2 days after requesting it, and before the activation date. I thought I was covered by the distance selling regulations and could cancel the service before the activation without incurring in any charges. But I received an email back which specifies I will be liable for…

Orange Anytime still taking payment after I've cancelled...
A few days before payment was due last month (~20th) I phoned Orange to cancel my Anytime dialup service (I've moved to MAAF BB). Initially I was told there's 30 days notice required, but the next person I was passed to said 'that's it...it's cancelled' and said 'no, the money will not be taken (that) month.' Well, it was,…

ADSL Max is the advertising misleading?
Hi, I am starting to think that the advertising of max is misleading. I the majority or adverts they have a large test/graphic stating "up to 8mb" But this is totally false as BT has capped the speed through profiling to a max of 7.1mb. So the fastest ANYONE using this service will see is in fact 7mb. Well actually only…

TalkTalk reps visiting homes
Today I was visited by a talktalk rep who asked if I was a happy user. It seems they are doing the rounds trying to recruit customers and asking existing ones if they're happy. I invited him in. When I told him that the CD rom they sent me to download their software, he said it was because I had an old machine running an…

Can I Get Out of an 18 Month BT Contract Early?
I've recently had a change of circumstances where I've had to relocate to another part of the country and need to cancel the BT line and broadband in my house. Canceling the line is fine, but I have to 'buy myself out' of the 18 month broadband contract (about £160). I can't 'take the broadband with me' so I'm thinking I…

Are Freedom2surf deliberately delaying MAC code?
I e-mailed a request for a MAC code to Freedom2surf last Tuesday (11th April), they have yet to provide one . Now, the reason I think that they are deliberately delaying is, my billing date is 21st of the month & they are holding out so that I am forced to pay another full month with them! A few questions:* Has anyone…

Tiscali monthly charges - advertised rates are different to what existing users pay
I am currently on Tiscali’s “Up to 2Mb Broadband and Free Weekend Talk” which is advertised at 14.99 per month. The issue here is that on my current bill with Tiscali, I am being charged 17.99. I have come across this before; I used to be on their 1 meg broadband only deal and found that I was paying more than a new…
