ESA moving to SDP & Housing Benefit
I'm presently living with family whilst on ESA (Support Group & Enhanced PIP). However, I am looking at moving very shortly (pre Xmas) into a single-occupancy tenancy. I understand this would make me eligible for SDP (as an addition to the ESA); as such this then means it would be Housing Benefit rather than UC I would be…

LHA rate increase
The local housing allowance rates were increased from 1st April this year ending the benefits freeze. My local council has so far not increased the rates. I have emailed many times but they just say they are dealing with it and it will be backdated. The new rates would make a very big difference to me. Is anyone else still…

JSA, how difficult can it be!
Applied for JSA online on the 1st August, didn't hear anything until a call out of the blue yesterday (10th) which was to arrange an appointment (via phone) for today at 10am. Of course, 10am comes and goes and no call received and nothing by way of email or call to explain why. So what should I do next? Rang numerous…

Family Member or Non family Lodger
Doing a Benefit Calculation, declaring working son, my benefit would be cut by 50%! done the sum with and without someone else living with me: But if lodger was non family member they would calculate very differently! So lodger paying say £50 a week rent, Council will take £15 into account!🤔 But would take £50 just because…

On ESA - can I change my postal address?
Hi. I live alone, but I've always had my post sent to my parents' address for practical reasons. I explained it to the people at the Jobcentre years ago and they were fine with it, and all my post has been delivered there since (I believe as a c/o address) However, my parents' postman has changed and it's now somebody…
