PIP BACKPAY NOT ADDING UP?

Hey

My friend just got PIP, he got awarded higher rate on daily living and standard mobility.

The backpay doesn’t work out, we worked it out to be 8k or there abouts but only got paid 6.2k... it seems he only got backpaid the DL rate and not mobility? Is that right?

thank you for any response.

Based on that information no one can tell you anything at all because you haven't put any dates for when the PIP is from. Your friend will need to ring DWP if they think their backdated money is wrong because they are the only ones that can help.
Was it a transfer from DLA, or a review of an existing claim or did they report a change of circumstances?

New claim - backdated from march 28th 2019..

we did calculations and it seems they only paid for the daily living enhanced rate. Whereas he got awarded standard mobility too.. we did the 70 weeks x £89 and it comes to about what the backpay is. It seems the mobility part backpay is missing, seems odd?

As suggested, the best thing to do is to phone PIP. There may be a straightforward reason for the discrepancy.
  • Did you have any debt with DWP that needed to be repaid? That would more than likely of been deducted.
  • Rang them.. looks like they made a Mistake and haven’t processed my mobility award. Should be sorting it now. Jesus Christ. Stress!

I was going to post that they probably hadn't processed the mobility part of your award. There was a similar problem posted here a couple of months ago, the poster hadn't received any arrears and upon phoning PIP was told someone at PIP had forgot to do what needed to be done to send the arrears!
    Good to see it's sorted

Just wondering why you put "my friend" in the first post but then "my mobility award" in the next? You shouldn't need to feel awkward about asking for advice for yourself on here.
