LHA rate increase

The local housing allowance rates were increased from 1st April this year ending the benefits freeze. My local council has so far not increased the rates. I have emailed many times but they just say they are dealing with it and it will be backdated. The new rates would make a very big difference to me.
Is anyone else still receiving last years LHA rates? Is there anything i could do to speed this up?

There was a very small shortfall with my housing benefit for my private rental before the April increases. My housing benefit was changed towards the end of April, so fairly quick.

I wouldn't email them, i'd be ringing them.

Thank you for your reply. I have phoned many times but just get told by the receptionist she either doesn't know about the increase or there is nothing she can do. The receptionist always says I need to complete a form online which she says go straight through to that department. I have completed 4 of these forms. And after waiting 3 weeks for each reply am just told to keep waiting.
I currently have to find a topup of almost £300 a month. So this increase would really help.

Contact your local councillor and tell them that the delay is causing you financial hardship. Your local councillor should then be able to chase it up with the benefits department on your behalf.
