Can I recommend Stewarts who are behind the Merc garage on the Stratford Road from Leam to Stratford.

They used to do all of the council's work - many a time did I see a road sweeper, or bizarrely a red london bus. Since they downsized due to the recession, and got rid of their coach fleet, they tend just to do car work/MOT's. I always take mine there and they tell me what I can get away with and what is imminent.

I shall be using the Council MOT Centre at Beacon Business Park, Weston Road, Stafford at the end of the month, I'll let you know how I get on.

Well my car passed the MOT, though I expected it to really as its only just 3 years old. Wouldn't stop certain garages creating jobs though I suppose.

The MOT Centre was clean and professionally run, I'll use them again in the future.

The MOT cost was £45.

The car auction on the Moseley Road used to be a good place. No retest fees as no car ever failed. All you needed to do is slip the man £10 and he'd write you a mot.

Don't mock my speeling, Gordon Brown's running the country and he's no better.

Calm down, it's only a forum.

Thumbs up Coventry City Council test centre at Whitley Depot

I've just used the Coventry City Council test centre at Whitley Depot (259 London Rd, Coventry, CV3 4AR) and they were good. £35 with a free retest (car failed first time on emissions, after some diesel cleaning additive and giving the engine a good thrashing it passed with flying colours). They weren't quick, but there was a waiting room where I could sit and get some work done, and eavesdrop on the taxi drivers who were coming in to get their licences :-)

Default Good MOT garage in Birmingham

I've just returned from my MOT after following the advice from money saving. The garage is in Birmingham City centre, not far from Birminghm FC. I managed to get a booking within 24 hours and after I dropped it off it was ready again within the hour.

Just like the forum recommended, they "SUGGESTED" I change my tyres but did not fail me on it, whereas I would think if i took it to a high street garage would of failed me and charged me for new tyres!! Go Council, it will save you time and money!!

Cheers

Anybody any experience of honest Wolverhampton MOT centres? Nationwide Autocentre is so tempting with 1/2 price deal but having read reviews on here will not be saving half test fee only to shell out fortune on unnecessary repairs as that seems to be the general consensus on here. TIA.

Default Wrong tel number for west midlands mot centre

HI, I've just tried the telephone number stated for the walsall west midlands council run mot centre only to be told I had rung the wrong number. The correct number is 01922 653753 and not 01922 653716 as stated in the list.

Cheers

Default Birmingham Mot

You may wish to try Den Caney Coaches based in Bartley Green, south west birmingham. They do not offer repair service and can accomodate cars, minibuses and motor homes.
