Having tried Stockton-on-Tees council depot (listed under Lancashire for some reason) I have been told they do all the work to the local taxis so you need to book at least 2 weeks in advance. My friend has had her MOT done there and said they were excellent though.

There's also South Shields, although I'm guessing Newcastle & Gateshead are more convenient for you. ;)

Do you have to live within the same council area as the centre? There's none in Darlington :( But if i could use Stockton...

Mind you, would be stranded if it failed :rotfl:

Does anyone know where that Newington Road one is in Newcastle?

As far as I know, Newington Road is the one which runs along the bottom of the park next to Warwick Street (Sandyford/Shieldfield). I've had a look along there and can't see any garage.

Does Newington Road continue on the other side of the pedestrian walkway ... which I guess is accessed by the road near to Byker Morrisons/Byker Bridge?

    Any directions would be handy.
