My capital one circle card gives 1% cashback, just got a nice christmas present £183 cashback
Though does not indicate on statements amount of cashback earned. They used to but stopped reporting the amoutn of cashback earned around May or June 2004.
Though the amount recieved is correct as Ive done the sums and £183 is about 1% of the prev 12 month statements.
So a nice little christmass present indeedee.0 -
Can the cash-back money be moved out of the Capital one card or can it only be used to off-set the cost of a credit card purchase?0

It is time for the Capital One 0.5% cashback victims to give this card the boot. I can only get classical music from their 0800 952 5088 number. They don't acknowledge that it is Capital One that you have contacted. The Number is free and it is a Bank Holiday so they are not to blame.

What is the music they are playing ? (£18 rebate due).0 -
To answer libertas: If your Capital One account is now in credit, then the simplest way to move the cash back money out of the Capital One account is to do a balance transfer for the amount to another credit card which you are using for spending. If the amount isn't exactly a whole number of pounds then you won't be able to do it via the Capital One web-site, but will have to phone them up to do it, but it should be ok as long as the amount is at least £50.
Once my cashback has been transferred through and my Capital One balance is zero I'm going to phone to close the account, but see if I can get a BT 0% offer to stooz. It was Capital One reducing my cashback from 1% to 0.5% that gave me the push to start stoozing back in the summer.
Joe_Bloggs: Have you tried their 0800 9 52 51 50 number? It was working for me yesterday, but of course yesterday was a normal working day.
I hope this helps,

The amount was less than £50, however when I 'phoned the number you suggested they said they would send me a cheque within 14 (working) days.0

Thanks DT. The Cap One number has been noted. On a different topic i tried my Amex Blue out in a chip 'n' pin Sainsbury's without any problems. My signature attempt was awful but the 'January 1st' scare story was perhaps just that.

Bad news for Nationwide credit card holders in today's Sunday Times.
I got the Nationwide card for travelling I have also been using it for the cashback.
However as of 1st March the cashback will drop from 0.5% to 0.25% and the introductory rate will drop from 1% to 0.5%, plus the APR is going up 1%.
Gradually all the cashback cards are drying up.0 -

I have an abbey cash back card. This gives me 0.5% on first £500.00 per month then 1%. I use it to pay council tax and phone bill for onetel, also for all my monthly shopping - petrol, sons uni fees, car insurance for everyone etc. Even used £3000.00 towards a new car this year. No one seems to have mentioned this card but I find it quite a goodie. I got £212 back this Christmas 8)0
