As a newcomer to the chat forum, I can't find my way round too well. How do I get the the GraesyPalm site? You mention the moneysupermarket links - where are they, please?
Thanks ,
Padleydiisasmurf wrote:I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but all the cards mentioned in Martin's article (except the Circle One rebate card) are available through GreasyPalm.
Make sure you click on the moneysupermarket links to get to the providers website first to pay Martin's fees (it doesn't matter that you don't apply) and then go to GreasyPalm and apply through there and you will get the following
Amex Blue £12.50 cashback for instant acceptance
Accucard £6 cashback for application
EasyMoney £12.50 cashback for instant acceptance (reduces to £2.50 if further checks are required)
More Th>n £12.50 cash for instant acceptance (reduces to £3.50 if further checks are required)
Unfortunately I signed up to two of these cards before I knew about GreasyPalm, so missed out on £25
If you're not a member of GreasyPalm be aware that they will not send you a cheque until you have £25 worth of cashback.0 -
Hi
Would someone save me the hassle of trawling through 18 pages of posts and summarise the discussion that's taken place so far? What's the best cashback card on the market at the moment?
Thanks0 -
I suggest you read this article on the main site instead. Much shorter!0

Thanks, i just thought there may be some other cards that offer better cashback. is conran the best one to go for? i already have an amex but not many places accept it0

A&L sent me through a letter stating that their cashback is ending at the end of Feb this year... another one bites the dust.0

Morgan Stanley's 2% introductory cashback offer seems like the best deal about to me. 2% till May then 15 thereafter on tirst £2,000. Is there a snag or is it really the best deal about?0

since hearing that A&L are scrapping the cashback on its VISA card that I use I was going to switch to an alternative one. But the rates of cashback seem to be falling across the board, so I've decided to get a charity card instead as the rate of cashback to the charity is better and worth more to them0

There used to be an article by Martin that outlined better/ tax efficient means of donating to charity than so called charity cards . I can't find it so I will paraphrase his MSE alternative from dim and distant memory with the hope that more informed members can chip in. Get a 0% purchase card and save the money you have spent in a high interest internet account. Donate the interest you make via tax efficient means such as GiftAid.

When applying to pay in full by direct debit, definitely check by phone. Despite completing direct debit forms and stating on application to pay in full(keep copies of the application form), both Halifax and Accucard only deducted the minimum amount, charged interest (£17) and £20 fee for late charges. Both refunded on appeal, but is this another scam to make money? - not everyone checks their statements or has the time to chase up.0

Following your tips I have now got an AMEX Platinum but as AMEX is not accepted everywhere I also applied for a Conran card (as my current A&L card is ending its 0.5% cashback at the end of February). I received a letter turning down my application from MBNA who operate the Conran card. On phoning them I learned that they also operate the A&L card and that they would not sanction my having two cards. So the only way I can get the Conran is to cancel my A&L. I presume this would be the case if you hold any other cards operated by MBNA. You might like to alert people to this barrier in your tips page.
Thanks for a great site
