Trying for a baby (12+ M/not straightforward)

Of course you are welcome to post suggestions!!! I don't know if I will be 'brave' enough to click on the thread with the title 'Having problems conceiving'. It is very off-putting for me. I haven't started any tests yet, and I have no idea if I am having any problems, other than it just haven't happened yet.
I agree with nottslass, that trying after miscarriage would be different that struggling to conceive. I can't talk from experience on this, but I would imagine, that it is not the time since you started would matte, but that you actually lost the baby along the way and how to cope with this...
I felt exactly the same - it just hasn't happened yet for me either!
The ttc/coping after miscarriage bit is why I thought that it would be better to focus on the trying for a baby aspect, rather than just conception.0 -
hey peeps well i think it should be something simple like ttc 12+ months
its simple straight to point and what we are all looking for
says nothing upsetting and distinguishes who should be in what thread
so hows ppl geting on where are we all in the process
i am VK and i have been ttc since march 07 with no luck, do not know why as lots of bd had took place, after so long waiting our gp is referring us to gynacologist- excuse the spelling pls so we are pretty much biding our time
any1 else want to share:A VK :A0 -
Very good and straight to the point, VK! I agree that the old title was perfect and it will be difficult to come up with something better!
I am 29 in 11 days, OH is 34, we have been trying since October 07, and this is our 14th cycle in trying... Haven't been to doctors as yet, as I'd like to leave it till after Christmas (maybe that is what Santa has in mind this year?).
This last cycle decided to try agnus castus for the first 2 weeks, so will see if that makes any difference.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
klkl we have not really tried much at all we do not understand what all the other methods are. well me and OH are a desperate for bubba. Im 21 and hes 24 out birthdays are in december. we would love if santa gave us that for xmas. lol
well we went to his doc in march after our year of trying and she was like oh dont worry we will not refer you until 24 months we found this strange so then went to my gp who confirmed the same thing. This is at like two seperate hospitals but in june or july i had been having some strange periods so i went to get it checked out and get my smear test at same time, it was another gp at clinic who was doing this, she was asking usual questions like are you pg, using contracteption blah blah and i was telling her and shes like oh i think we will just refer you shes like you may as well you seem like you know what you want, so she wrote off but still waiting to hear back, so its kinda good news. we hope nothing is wrong,
have you been pg before or this your first time? we are first timers.
so excited thought.
only thing i may find strange is my periods seem to change from month to month normally 28 days one month and next 33 but then my shortest has been 26 and longest 39. so we duno whats up but it averages out about 31 days. wish this was straight forward lol:A VK :A0 -
I must admit, like the others, I am disappointed that the old thread had to close. We had started to build up a little supporting community - after all, if we can avoid IVF by trying other things, this would save us a fortune!!!!
I too dont like the title, as although accurate, it isnt exactly welcoming, and to be honest, this is the third similar thread we have had, and having to keep introducing yourself and the problems you are having is a little soul destroying.
In addition, I hope that the new thread is kept focussing on people who for whatever reason are having difficulties having a baby, because when this extra thread was set up it was because we were all finding it a little difficult with people posting that they were trying to conceive and getting pregnant the month later - and also because we are all posting tips, which are getting lost because the threads are being closed and moved around.
Thats that off my chest, and I am sorry peeps, I liked the old title and cannot think of a better one!!!Live on £4000 a year again for 20110 -
Hi all
I've changed the title and the opening post

We are trying for our first. We got married last year, and both parents a making hints that it is time for little ones. We haven't told anyone that we are trying and it really hurts when they are saying things like 'it is time for children, not pets' (we are going to get a cat after Christmas, if we get the house we want to rent). I am just brushing all these hints off, but it does leave a very bitter taste.
I am in my 2ww now, and it is CD22, so not much longer to wait till AF comes... My cycles are 28 days normally, with an odd one of 30 or 26 days.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Aha - You thought you could hide but I found you all again!
Good news from FE-Land is that my BP has come down - I knew it had from using my home monitor, and now the nurse has 'officially' confirmed this morning - 145 over 84.
and more amazing news too - the Fertility clinic actually PHONED ME on Friday, without my contacting them, to see how I was getting on! As long as the BP stays down, my nurse there doesn't see why we can't go for the next cycle of IVF - yippeee! (Never thought that the prospect of several weeks being jabbed with needles every day, sometimes twice, would be so exciting - OMG what has my life become??? ).
Thing is, DH and I had resigned ourselves to not being able to get another cycle in before Xmas, so we decided to go on a walking hol over New Year....now I'm having second & third thoughts.
IF we can do the next cycle, and IF, IF, IF it all goes well, and we get that BFP....well I'm guessing I'd be about 3 weeks PG at that point - so maybe lots of walking not a good idea?!? (We've done these hols before so know what to expect)...but then again, being away over NY would be good as I'd avoid the partying with mates who KNOW that I like a drink, and that NYE is my fave nite of the year, and would be bound to notice if I wasn't imbibing alcohol.......Arrghh!
Hope everyone had a good W/E (DH & I were both ill, so not too good for us), and is a happy & positive frame of mind!
Hugs,
FE
PS - I was quite happy with the title "TTC 12m+"......The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"
..."Mind yer a*se on the step!"

I'm still about, reading everyone's posts daily but don't really have much to say myself
Good luck:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
