  • Am not eligible for transport as I am on Incapacity Benefit and low rate DLA (both components). The cards are not even working over the phone. I have sent an SOS to all my mates but I also need my food money you know. Natwest have to resolve it. I have no credit cards or anything like that as it would be irresponsible lending to someone on benefits. So fed up now as I need to know whether it has gone in. If it isn't resolved soon I shall be screaming. I am on painrelief stronger than morphine and need to keep bllood pressure down. I know others are affected but why is there a distinct lack of information.

I may look well but I am very poorly, I am fed up with being judged because I cannot work. Grrr!!
I am not looking at them, they just aint real!

  • Same with Ulster Bank online banking as well (part of the RBS group) but at least their telephone banking seems to be working, I have not tried to draw any money out yet though.

I would imagine a lot of people don't have the funds to have a back up account with money in.

I would have a back up account if I was able to work. I rely on the money that is due in today. I am so disgusted at the way there is no information from bank.

Why does everyone have to jump at the chance to criticise??!

So Natwest have had some problems this morning, it's not like it happens often. I can't ever remember having a problem with Natwest before this and that's going back 15 (ish) years.

Let's not forget, nothing and nobody is perfect. Surely a lot of us on this forum have done something wrong at one point in our life!!

Everyone......calm down, everything will be sorted out later so there's no need to worry

As for the fact customers were informed of this, yes we were but were under the impression it would be fixed by 530am today. I did not go to the cashpoint at all this week as I draw money out every 2 weeks, I check internet banking (when it works) every few days in case of problems. With planned maintenance they should do it on a Sunday morning thus not affecting people and businesses.

If I did not have to buy essential food or go to an appointment that is pertinent to my being well and not having to drug myself up every few minutes then I would be okay. I resent the fact that they have turned someone who was nice and calm this morning into someone so angry they could strangle their teddybear.

  • it was scheduled between one and half four this morning not for the whole day so it wasnt planned!

Oh look you know the times. Theirfore it was PLANNED, Yes it never went to plan but it was still PLANNED unlike HSBC's.

Do you think if they noticed a security flaw it would be better to stick to plan and leave it so you can get your money?

Everything is more important than to stick to a plan where money is involved.

@stresshead81 Sunday would affect people still. I personally shop on sunday with my card to avoid the one hit wonders who jam the isles once every saturday.

@lauraland "approx" is the key. They said approx not "Actual" Chances are during maintenance they noticed something not right and continued to work on it. Rather than leaving it and it going offline unexpectedly

I not certain whether they said approx or not - i just wasn't sure of the exact times they had stated so i added in the 'approx'. I understand the point you're making though & I agree, although a bit of information or declaration of a fault would be nice.

I agree Natwest are usually pretty reliable.

However, as you may have noticed from other posts, some people are reliant on having access to funds and now face a very stressful weekend because of this situation.

Stresshead, can your Mum or someone drive you to hospital on Monday?

Your money will go in, so try not to worry, just concentrate on getting a lift on Monday, the rest will take care of itself.
