Just wanted to add that their have been other times in the last couple of years this has happened with nat west. There are threads here about it
I must say, I have never noticed. If it has happened other times in the last couple of years then fair enough I was wrong which I accept but I just think people need to calm down, there's nothing anyone other than Natwest can do and I'm pretty sure they won't be sat about doing nothing (or playing games etc).

It's just taking longer than usual ... NatWest always updates overnight. If you have logged in recently there was a message to say maintenance would be taking place overnight, you had to click that you had read the message before you could progress to the next page of your account0

Things like this do happen and you're right is just best to wait patiently. However, ask me again in half an hour because i've just tried to use my card at my local garage to buy some ciggies and it didn't work. Taking my money is one thing. Taking my nicotine is way out of line! tut
I don't mind how long it takes today as long as when its up today the bank has done the overnight updates for credit due in Mon usually received Saturday. Did someone say here that even when back up today the system might not have updated? Hope it has. Monthly wages usually go in today but not due till Mondays and my only day off a week for xmas shopping0 -

Did for me this morning at the NW cash machine at 9-45. I was able to withdraw money.0 -
I went to log in, got told I hadn't got Rapport installed, which I have.
Thought ok I'll download it, just incase it had an update, but half way through installing, it failed and told me to uninstall other version.
So closed it all down, reloaded the Natwest page, rapport working, but then met the service unavailable message.
This happened to me earlier in the week, exactly as you have described except that closing the page down didn't help. I started an investigation with Trustee Support but the problem was solved by the following day without their help. Other sites protected worked fine so I assumed it to be a NatWest problem.0 -
Is there any suggestion that this is anything more than a routine maitenance problem, all seem a bit odd!!!. Could it be the result of a cyber attack or security breach?0

Golden rule of IT maintenance - always have a rollback plan if original plan doesn't work. Nat West will have that rollback plan and it's probably now in operation, but you simply can't have customers logging on and changing their account status until this is complete. You'll just have to wait i'm afraid.0
