Garlic Wash - Any Ideas of Boiled/Chopped Garlic?
Don't know how many of you read the Greenfingered Moneysaving Thread but some of us have a snail/slug problem. One of the solutions suggested was to make a garlic wash by boiling up two chopped bulbs of garlic in water and then diluting to and use to water plants. Well I now have my garlic infusing in the water after…

How Do You Pleat a Teatowel to Support A French Baguette?
Although I have been making bread for quite a while, I have only recently ventured into French Baguettes and so far they have turned out really well. However, I think I must be a bit backward when it comes to pleating my teatowels to support the dough as it rises. I just get a teatowel and fold each side in on itself a…

Tomato ketchup wastage
Has anybody else noticed how difficult it is to remove the last dregs of Heinz tomato ketchup from their upside-down bottles these days? The plastic bottles seem to have lost their squeeze factor which makes it impossible to remove quite a large quantity of the sauce. Does anybody have suggestions on how to extract this?…

Feeding yourself on BOGOFS & other special offers
I'm intrigued to wonder how possible it would be to feed yourself for a week by merely buying BOGOFS, "two for the price of one" or other special offers from supermarkets. It would probably be a rather wierd diet but if everybody would post the BOGOFS we come across and which supermarket, it might provide an idea of what…
