I know this might be really stupid but i can not think for the life of me what this cakey thing is called, my DD just had old photos of my nan out and it reminded me of the little tart things she used to make me so now i need to make them and don't know what it is (can't as her as she passed away 6 years ago)

if i remember right it was a pastry with jam in and coconut and a sponge top i think?

i am sure one of you know what i mean please need a recipe for it and a name of it

i now have a craving and want to make them tomorrow lol

Is it Manchester Tart  That has custard, not sponge, though. We had it for school dinners.

    Thanks Pigpen and Floyd

i think that must be what they are, though i thought the topping had flour in but i might just be remembering her making her own pastry

did not think it would just be called a coconut tart  right will give it a try tomorrow lets hope it tastes the same feeling very nostalgic now it used to be my job as a kid to put the jam in the case for her.
