One mans junk is another's treasure. What to donate?
We are going through the veeeeery long process of decluttering. I have a bag for charity shop donations but am never sure whether to donate something or not. How do you decide on what's rubbish and what's for the charity shop? I don't mean things like broken toys or jigsaws with half the pieces missing. I binned all 10…

How long can you keep beans, lentils and rice for?
I am cleaning out my cupboards and I have found some beans, lentils and rice that are well out of date (I put them back in last time I cleaned out the cupboard because I felt so bad about not having used them!). The truth is that now that our situation has changed; my OH was made redundant 10 months ago, we need to utilize…

Recycling waste water
Rather than pour dishwater down the plug hole I was wondering if there was a way I could purify it so it was drinkable again. Could be quite a saving.

Cheap and easy dinners for the warmer weather

Things I don't mind cooking are Spag. Bol, chops with salad, past and…

Cooking to bring cholesterol down
My dear OH has been told his cholesterol is too high. Thing is I thought we ate pretty healthily already. We don't have fry ups very often, and I always trim the meat we have to take off the excess fat. I use olive oil to cook with as well. So does anyone have any tips or recipes to help at all?
