What temp should the fridge be in this weather? I have it between 4 and 5, is that ok?

Yes. that's ok. Fridge temp should be between 0 and 5 degrees C. and your freezer should be below -18*c0

I have no freezer temp. My freezer is frost free and up until now it's never iced up, but now it's started to ice. i don't know why, is it on it's way out?

Is your freezer in an outbuilding? I bought a frost free fridge/freezer last year
to put in the garage, but it didn't work properly. I have found out to my cost that frost free don't work in outbuildings. They need a certain temperature to operate efficiently.
Maybe you could check the seal round the door/lid to see if it's closing properly. HTH0 -

It's in the kitchen and the door is fine, when i open it the plastic sides are warm to the touch. I hope it's not on it's way out  So are the sides of the fridge

Has anyone ever checked the temperature of their fridge. I have just bought a new one and it is supposed to be between 2 and 5 degrees celsius, ideal temp. but although that might show on the gauge on the outside, the thermometer I have on the inside shows much higher. Are you supposed to feel a blast of cold air when you open the door? any advice would be welcome.0

I'd never describe the cold air as a 'blast' when you open our fridge, but everything seems to keep perfectly well and we haven't yet died of salmonella poisoning or the like.
Our previous one we had to give away as it was too tall for the space in our kitchen when we moved. It was a Bosch with a temp guage on the outside, we had it running at 5 degrees. Turned it down to 2 degrees in the summer once - stuff started freezing in the fridge so we decided 5 was fine.Make £2025 in 2025

It your therm. is in the door then the warm air from the outside when you open the door will increase the reading before you look at it.
It cut be possible that you need to turn it up though if it is new and you dont know the settings.:beer:0 -
I have a termometer in my fridge, and keep it at around 5C (anything colder and the back and bottom start to freeze)Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!

Hello there
Thanks everyone, that does put my mind at rest. Maybe we kept our last fridge at too low a temperature as some stuff did freeze in there and there was an ice build up at the back. So by comparison this new one might not feel so cold.0 -
I knew my fridge wasn't getting really cold! I have just had the engineer out from frigidaire. He said there was a total sysyem failure, he thinks the fridge must have been laid flat during delivery. He was right it was!
I am getting a new one, no hassle.0
