I have recently painted 2 of my kitchen walls in a dark grey Dulux matt paint. I had used it on a chimney breast and it looks great so thought I would use the remainder of the tin. It doesn’t seem to control anything. I’ve just bought a 2 gang 1 way switch but can’t work out how the wiring would go. Any…

New fuel effect gas fire - ideas/experiences?
I have a 1920s detached house, and, a few years ago, replaced an open basket gas fuel-effect gas fire with an open fronted version. This reduced the flue aperture - and drafts - considerably. The chimney is original, with 9 x 9" square flue. However, there is still a draft on windy days, and heat loss, so I looking for…

In the meantime several of the neighbours houses have had the external wall insulation…

Temperature pressure relief valve dripping
Our megaflo Worcester Bosch (Greenstar CDi Classic) switched itself off earlier today and then there were problems when I tried to restart it. It kept flashing two T's on their side, ie -I I- alternately with a reducing figure which I assume is a temperature. Since then, there is a slow steady drip visible through a small…

Help! What are these bugs / mites?
Hi, This last week, we've started to have some tiny bugs appearing in one of our en-suite bathrooms. I call them bugs, they are tiny little black dots, smaller than a pinhead, so perhaps they are mites, I don't know. Anyway, I've tried taking zoomed in photos to identify them, and have struggled. They are definitely not…

How do I unlock this thermostat?
This clearly needs programming, but before that I need to rid of the display padlock. I am going through my paperwork to find the manual but have tried random combination of the buttons on the panel (in much the same way as I do when resetting the clock on my oven!) with no luck. This was working when it was installed 2…

Is this what it actually costs everyone else?? I know labour is a…
