Saga/Marcus Cash Isa
Just had email from Saga saying instant access cash ISA rate is changing on 15 June. Down from 4.75% to 4.55% (including bonus). Assume Marcus will be making the same change.

Argos recycle policy
Has anyone had experience of Argos recycle policy? I had a problem in an Argos store today when i bought a new electric kettle and wanted to return my old one for recycling. I thought I had read and understood their recycle policy, but was told I had misunderstood and refused to accept the old kettle for recycling. This is…

YBS Login
Has anyone heard what the problem is with YBS. I've not been able to login all morning and see from Downdetector that there appears to be a major problem with login. Tried phoning but obviously telephone line overwhelmed.

Marks & Spencer wrong magazine price on receipt
A few days ago I bought an Airfryer Magazine at the checkout of local M & S. When I got home I noticed the magazine was priced at £6.99 on the cover, but I had been charged £7.99. Took it back and was credited with the overpayment. However once he had finished with my credit the sales assistant continued with his previous…

Combination Microwave Operating Instructions
In interests of economy, I've just replaced my old built in oven with a built in combination microwave. I understand all the information on using microwave as have used these for years, but some of the instructions on using the convection oven confuse me. Instructions say use supplied rack to stand on turntable and allow…

Event cancellation - Covid no longer covered
Really annoyed with Ticket Seller seetickets.com who sold me tickets for The Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry. Was taking grandson today but he tested positive for Covid yesterday so no intention of going and spreading it around (especially as would have involved 2 hour bus journey each way). Had taken out refund protection…

Scottish Power have corrected yesterdays new rates. Massive Difference
Yesterday SP were showing new rates of SC 50.75p, Standard Rate 51.611p, Control Rate 46.928p for our Comfortplus Control Meters. Today changed to 50.75p, 33.763p, 29.080p. A massive difference something to be thankful for. A complication I hadn't realised. SP have been notifying customers on fixed rates in some cases,…

YBS Changes to tiers in accounts and interest calculations
Looks like YBS are becoming concerned about the ever increasing bank interest rates. Received email today saying YBS are going to standardise the number of tiers in their variable rate accounts ie majority of variable rate accounts will have 2 tiers (no longer one or three tiers). Interest rates will rise on the first tier…

Scottish Power Tariff List
For anyone wanting to know the latest electricity tariffs Scottish Power are offering, have a look at this link. I've always found it accurate and it is very quickly updated. In fact, since last week they've removed all fixed or flexi tariffs (at least on my type of meter). It doesn't show October prices yet. These won't…

Megabus/City Link finding bag left on bus?
I travelled recently on a Megabus from Inverness to Edinburgh, getting off at an intermediate stop. After the bus left I found I had left a bag on the luggage rack above the seat. My fault entirely, but I was travelling with 2 suitcases, 2 backpacks, a bag, handbag and a child. I spoke to the bus supervisor at my stop who…

Sony Walkman MP3 player charging
I'll be making a long bus journey and have dug out my old Sony Walkman MP3 player. I've tested the USB charging cable connecting to my computer and it works well. The bus will have USB charging sockets on the seats, so will it be Ok to plug the Sony into this to charge? Also while I'm away will it be possible to charge by…

Covid travel home at end of holiday?
I worry about everything, but can control this by having
plans to deal with anything that arises. However, I can’t see a practical solution to the following possible covid
holiday situation: I’m going on a cruise in 3 weeks’ time. Have insurance so no problem if covid were
to develop while on ship – isolate in cabin.…

Mobile Number Cloned
Not sure whether this should have been here or on some other board, but here goes. Early this morning my sister phoned me (on landline) to say she'd had a call from my mobile number, but no one on line. My mobile was switched off overnight and hadn't been switched on again, or when I did check it, made any calls at this…

£150 Council Tax discount not in Scotland
If you live in Scotland, don't factor the £150 discount from your Council Tax into your financial planning. It sounds as if we're not going to get it as such. Scotland is being given £290 million as its share to distribute as it wants. The Scottish Government announced last week that it was going to distribute £120 million…

Offered fix that seems good. Any thoughts, please
I’ve noted Martin’s advice to do nothing about switching to
fixed rates but am in doubt about what to do after getting quote from Scottish
Power for new 2 year fix. I have
Comfortplus Control meter so am restricted to SP but they have given me very
good fixed rates so far. Details: (Sorry a
long read, but I wanted to list…

Microsoft Solitaire Collection
I've been playing the Microsoft Solitaire Collection card games on my PC (Windows 8.1) for several years but suddenly lost access to this. Happened around the same time as a Windows update, but don't know if this was cause or coincidence. Solitaire front page opens on screen but nothing happens. It's not a great problem as…

I thought all threads I posted on would show up in Bookmarks as they did in subscribed threads, but nothing has appeared in my bookmarks after 18 April. Is there something I should be doing to get threads I post on to show up.
